We have mentioned that more and more people are turning to mains pressure unvented cylinders to provide all their hot water requirements. There is no doubt that they offer many advantages over traditional systems, but we must also take into account that mains fed systems will only be as good as the main that feeds them.
Unvented cylinders in general need between 1-1.5 bar pressure and 20 litres a minute just to operate (pressure is the force of water measured in bar or Psi pounds per sq inch, and flow- rate is the amount of water carried in the pipe, measured in litres or gallons).
In other words if your main supply suffers from low pressure or lack of flow rate then your performance from your unvented cylinder will be the same.
C N Plumbing carries out pressure and flow tests to establish the strength of your main supply and only then can they recommend the best system for your needs.
